Gerald G. Jampolsky
Gerald G. Jampolsky, M.D., is an American psychiatrist, author, and pioneer in the fields of attitudinal healing and mind-body medicine. A graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine, Jampolsky built a distinguished career in child and adult psychiatry before turning his attention to a deeper exploration of how thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes shape our experience of health, happiness, and peace. His work has touched millions of lives through his books, lectures, and the healing model he developed over decades of clinical practice.
In 1975, Jampolsky founded the Center for Attitudinal Healing in Tiburon, California, a pioneering organization that brought together individuals facing serious illness—including children with life-threatening diagnoses—to support one another through principles of love, forgiveness, and inner peace. The center's model, which emphasized the power of the mind to transcend fear and choose love, became an internationally recognized approach to emotional and spiritual healing. Jampolsky's landmark book Love Is Letting Go of Fear, published in 1979 and inspired by principles of forgiveness and personal transformation, became a publishing phenomenon, selling millions of copies worldwide and establishing him as one of the most influential voices in the human potential movement.
Throughout his career, Jampolsky authored more than a dozen books exploring the themes of forgiveness, inner peace, and the healing power of love, including Teach Only Love, Goodbye to Guilt, and One Person Can Make a Difference. His programs have been featured in the Nightingale-Conant catalog as powerful resources for listeners seeking to release fear, cultivate meaningful relationships, and experience lasting personal transformation. Jampolsky's message—that love and fear cannot coexist, and that choosing love is always a path to healing—remains as resonant today as when he first brought it to the world.
