Jim Loehr, Ed.D., is a world-renowned performance psychologist and co-founder of the Human Performance Institute (HPI) in Orlando, Florida. Over a career spanning four decades, Dr. Loehr has worked with hundreds of world-class athletes, military special forces, law enforcement officers, FBI hostage rescue teams, and Fortune 500 executives, helping them perform at their best under pressure. His groundbreaking research into the science of human performance has transformed how elite performers across every field think about energy, resilience, and sustained excellence.

Dr. Loehr is perhaps best known for pioneering the Corporate Athlete concept, which applies the rigorous training principles used by elite sports professionals to the demands of high-performance business leadership. Together with Tony Schwartz, he co-authored the landmark book The Power of Full Engagement: Managing Energy, Not Time, Is the Key to High Performance and Personal Renewal, which became a New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller. This work fundamentally shifted the conversation in corporate performance circles from time management to energy management—arguing that physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual energy are the true currencies of sustainable high performance.

Through the Human Performance Institute, Dr. Loehr has developed transformative training programs that help individuals and organizations build the capacity to perform at their best when it matters most. His work with Nightingale-Conant brings these powerful insights to a broad audience, offering practical strategies for anyone seeking to unlock greater energy, focus, and resilience in both their professional and personal lives. Dr. Loehr holds a master's degree and doctorate in psychology and is the author of more than a dozen books on performance and mental toughness.
